Welcome to the Iowa Krazy 8 Racing Fanatics website showcasing figure 8 racing from around Iowa and includes everything from Racing News, Pictures, & Racing Schedules where drivers will be battling it out in 2008 season each weekend in Iowa to see who is the best of the best in the Midwest. "#20 Stock Class Driver Mike Wetrich Retires and is Selling Out!!!"
Mike Wetrich from the Adel/Desota area is a former Stock Class driver of the #20 car that has raced at the Dallas County Fairgrounds figure 8 track over the years. He is also the brother of Steve Wetrich driver of the #12 Open Class car from Primghar, Iowa. Mike is getting out of racing. Finally after 21 years in the racing/demo world. He is gonna hang his hat. And do what? Well, the kids are all grown and gone, so he and the misses will be getting a boat and spending the weekends on the water. It has been a lot of fun. But this fun is gonna end, just in time to start some more fun. Look forward to watching and hearing about all his fellow racers.

"Krazy 8 Racing Series Double Points Night - Brooklyn 8-3-08"
Hello Figure 8 Fans & Drivers,
Well I said the month of August was going to be hot and it sure stood up to it name on this past Saturday night at the Brooklyn Raceway for the F.E.A.R. Inc. M.A.D - F.E.A.R. Series and the Krazy 8 Racing Series. The Krazy 8 Racing Series was the last of 3 nights of double point chances for the drivers to move up in points. One of the reasons for the 3 nights of double points at the three tracks was to draw more cars to the tracks at county fair time and also to the Brooklyn Raceway. I'm hoping it helped them out. I can't control what racers come to the tracks to race. But there were and are some races in the series that are double stacked in the schedule and I thought by maybe having double points it would help out also. The other reason was to give a chance for some drivers that were down in point standings due to a bad night of racing or they couldn't make it to a race an opportunity to move up and level out the point standing. Some it has helped out and others not so much.
This past Saturday night in Brooklyn was another exciting night of racing action with 80 cars total racing in the different class There was a great field of cars in all 3 F.E.A.R. Inc. Krazy 8 Racing Series classes. .The points battle among the drivers in the three classes is tight for some with only ten point difference. After next weekend there will be 2 weekends off for the Krazy 8 Racing Series for drivers and there families to enjoy the Iowa State Fair and also for families to get ready for school to start up again. I want to Thank all the drivers for coming to Brooklyn Saturday night. The next Krazy 8 Racing Series is a double track night with What Cheer & Brooklyn on August 23. Here is the results from the 3 classes of A- Features with the Krazy 8 Racing Series Points Standings after that. You will notice behind the A-Feature results are the double points for the participant racing series drivers.

Brady Van Maanen's #9V Pro Stock or Stock Class 1976 Chevy Monte Carlo Figure 8 Car
This is a strong running and very fast and competitive car in Brooklyn, Barnes City, and What Cheer. The car has many feature wins. I built this car during the winter for the beginning of the 2008 season. It has a 355 small block Chevy engine that was fresh at the beginning of this season and is still running as good as new. The car has Areo racing wheels all the way around with decent rubber. Short tube headers, like new RCI Fuel Cell with can, 4 core radiator, 350 Turbo tranny (also freshly rebuilt at the beginning of the season, and a Chevy Monte Carlo posi track rear end with a 373 gear. I'm selling all my spare wheels, tires, springs, and etc. with the car. The car handles awesome. We scaled it and checked suspension every week and it is still set up the same. I am also selling a 1976 Chevy Monte Carlo bare plated frame with a late model cage, and another body that is in decent shape with it for the same price if you want it. (would make a good open class car with some time, or good parts car for suspension parts). I'm selling everything because I would like to build or buy a new car for next year to race open class with.
Asking $ 3,000 o.b.o. Turn key, race ready, with everything listed.
